We offer our youth and community solutions through dance to build self-respect, self-esteem, self-confidence, discipline, community and cultural pride.
Each dance class, 1 hour and 15 minutes in length, has the accompaniment of a live percussion ensemble. The instructor begins the class with warm-up,
shares information about the dance style, introduces movement and takes lines across the dance floor. The class ends with cool down. Repetition of movement represents
how participants gain dance vocabulary, learn the language of the rhythms and receive the intrinsic health benefits of aerobic activity.
Tuesdays, Thursdays; 6:15 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Saturdays; 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
The lead percussionist in residency with the company serves as the instructor for these 1 hour classes. He shows the participant the
technique for playing the instruments and rhythms.
Saturdays; 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Each class, 1 hour and 15 minutes in length, provides exercise to include a combination of cardio, strength-training
and stretching activities accompanied by upbeat oldies’ recorded music.
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays; 5:15 p.m. – 6:15 p.m.
